Farried, Green hit town for NBA 3X in MOA

MANILA, Philippines -- NBA champion Danny Green of the San Antonio Spurs and FIBA World Cup gold medalist Kenneth Farried of the Denver Nuggets hit town to headline the NBA 3X Philippines 2015 this weekend. 

Green And Farried will meet the media on Thursday before gracing the opening of the NBA 3X Philippines 2015 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall on Friday and it will run until Sunday.  

Now on its fifth year, the event showcases an exciting 3-on-3 on-court competition with free authentic NBA entertainment for fans of all ages with the help of official partners adidas, Globe and Tattoo powered by Globe, KFC and Phoenix Petroleum, with SM Mall of Asia, Spalding, and Mang Tomas serving as Supporting Partners and official NBA broadcasters ABS-CBN Sports and Action, BTV, and NBA Premium TV.

Green and Farried will share their basketball talents with the young players, while the Golden State Warriors Dance Team and Philadelphia 76ers mascot Franklin are set to energize and bring the excitement to the crowd.

Green, who won the NBA championship with the Spurs in 2014, was selected 46th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2009 NBA Draft.  The 6’6” swingman set an NBA record for most three-point field goals made in a Finals series with 27 in the 2013 NBA Finals.   

Faried, a 6’8” forward out of Morehead State, was drafted 22nd overall by the Denver Nuggets in the 2011 NBA Draft.  He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2012 and was voted NBA Rising Stars Challenge MVP in 2013.  The 2014 FIBA World Cup Gold Medalist recorded per game averages of 12.6 points and 8.9 rebounds during the 2014-15 NBA season.

The competitive 3-on-3 tournament features divisions for boys (under-18, under-16, and under-13), and for girls (under-16).  The event will also include open categories for both men and women along with an invitation only Celebrity Division featuring popular local personalities such as Derek Ramsey, Mong Alcaraz, and Rio Dela Cruz among others.

Fans can also enjoy free fan activities which include the Tattoo Slam Dunk Contest; KFC Bucket 3-Point Shootout; NBA 3X Halftime, and many more.
