Cheers to 16 years

Cheers to 16 years

Tatler managing director Irene Martel Francisco and Edipresse Media Asia chairman and CEO Michel Lamuniere.

The 16th annual grand Philippine Tatler Ball fundraiser was held at the Grand Ballroom of Shangri-La at the Fort in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

It was a welcome change of scene for the more than 500 guests in attendance. (Others tried their best to be at the ball, even offered an awesome amount to be in the guest list. But it does not operate that way. Too bad, dahlings.)

Anyway, the much-anticipated charity affair was a tremendous success, thanks to the magnanimous support from the ball’s main partners Mercedes-Benz, Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. and Santos Knight Frank, and supporting partners  HSBC Premier and Albany by Megaworld.

The ball brought into the limelight two very important aspects: first and foremost, this year’s beneficiary, Child Protection Network Foundation; and, of course, the very deserving 2017 awardees.

In her welcome remarks, the magazine’s managing director Irene Martel Francisco, no less, palanggas, said that supporting Child Protection Network Foundation is important because its work is vital in preventing child abuse. Aside from prevention of child abuse, the foundation also takes care of the victims who are in dire need of immediate post-trauma treatment.

Another highlight of the evening was the presentation of the 2017 awardees, who were recognized for their unstinting contributions in their respective fields.

The 2017 awardees were Cary Santiago (Most Creative Force); eye-catching feminine beauty Tootsy Echauz-Angara (Most Stylish); Child Protection Network Foundation’s David and Katherine Bradley (The Philanthropy Award); the tireless advocate Sen. Loren Legarda (Patroness of The Arts); and Nedy Tantoco (The Diamond Award), who, with the great kindness of her heart, is always there to extend a helping hand, palanggas.

The awesome auction, combined with tons of generous donation, has brought the total funds raised (to date) to a whopping (hold your breath) P10,700,000 and still counting!

Aside from being the grandest charity ball for years, it has  also become an event for talented designers to showcase their fabulous creations through their valued clients, old and new. One well-known designer, a multi-faceted gentleman,  said, “I just had to turn down close to 20 orders of ball gowns from the overload of demands I had already accepted.” If that does not deserve a wow, what does, di bala?

Dancing then rocked the floor as bling-blings dangled from the upper and nouveau class of women present.

Yes, dahlings, Irene Martel Francisco, the magazine’s editor-in-chief Anton San Diego and the gang of the magazine’s famillie, really deserve the standing ovation for their tireless effort of this fabulous happening, palanggas. *
