Cops linked to gambling lords warned

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa warned yesterday policemen in Cagayan Valley that they will be killed if they continue to work with operators of illegal gambling.

Speaking before the Cagayan Valley police in Camp Marcelo Adduru, Dela Rosa said illegal gambling is his next target after the war on drugs because gambling lords also engage in drug trafficking. 

“You will surely die if you continue to engage with gambling operators,” Dela Rosa said.

Drug lords are using the machinery of gambling lords in the proliferation of drugs, he said.

Most police officials receiving money from jueteng do not know that it came from drug money, he added.
