APEC Schools boosts ties with HEIs

Janvic Mateo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – The Ayala-led Affordable Private Education Center Inc. (APEC) Schools has signed a partnership with five private higher education institutions to provide their graduates with priority admission to the said HEIs.

APEC Schools said it has signed a memorandum of agreement with Arellano University, Asia Pacific College, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Far Eastern University and Jose Rizal University to provide admission opportunities to their senior high school graduates.

“Tapping these institutions is a strategic move for APEC Schools in making sure that all its senior high school graduates who want to pursue college will be able to do so with minimal effort,” APEC Schools said in a statement.

Under the agreement, graduates of the senior high school program of any APEC Schools branch will receive priority if they enroll in the partner HEIs.

“In full support of the Department of Education’s K-12 program, our commitment is to ensure that all our senior high students are ready to hit the ground running by the time they graduate,” said APEC Schools chairman and Ayala Education chief executive officer Fred Ayala.

“They are fully able to secure professional employment and meet the growing economic demand for a highly skilled, globally competitive and knowledgeable workforce,” he added.

Ayala said the multi-year partnership with the five HEIs will allow their graduates to have the best resources available to them as they pursue success in college and at work.

Beth Lui, chief executive officer of APEC Schools, added that their senior high school program effectively works toward preparing students for tertiary education and professional employment.

“We are confident that all our graduates are fully equipped with more than just the necessary skills, values, and technology fluency needed to thrive in university or at work,” she added.
