Gov't offices, classes suspended on Monday

MANILA, Philippines - Classes in all levels and work in government offices are suspended on Monday due to the threats of typhoon ‘Ruby’ (international name ‘Hagupit’).

Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. announced the suspension of work in government offices in Regions IV-A, IV-B and National Capital Region (NCR), except for agencies involved in the basic delivery of basic and health services, disaster response and other public services.

The Department of Health released an updated list of areas with class suspensions until Tuesday.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council announced on Monday hat two were killed due to the typhoon. More than one million people were affected by "Ruby" in Regions  4-A, 4-B, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
