Southwoods Srs Trimester, Christmas golf slated

MANILA, Philippines – The Manila Southwoods’ golfing seniors gear up for the last of this year’s Seniors Trimester Birthday Bash event, which coincides with the staging of their Christmas tournament on Dec. 7 at the Masters Course in Carmona, Cavite.

Around 60 members are expected to clash in the fun but competitive tournament to be played under the Stableford scoring system with full handicap (max 36) using the Dec. 2016 UNHS course handicap.

Registration starts at 6 a.m. with the shotgun tee-off set at 8 a.m., according to the organizing Manila Southwoods Seniors headed by president Paco Gonzalez. Entry fee is P2,000.

San Miguel Purefoods is the event’s year-round sponsor with BMG Solar offering a prize for hole-in-one feat. Hole sponsors are Anako Philippines Corp., Betonval Ready Concrete, Inc., Boeing Material Handling Corp., Brainmaster, Megafiber, Goutrities, Cran UTI, Camp John Hay Golf Club, Francis Celones, Geolift by Rebtrade International Corp., La Paz Housing and Development Corp., Red Eagle Lending Investors Corp., Romago Inc. and Warbird Security and Investigation Agency.

The field will be divided equally into three divisions – Classes A, B and C, according to their course handicaps. The top two finishers in each group will receive prizes.

Under the Stableford points system, a net bogey is equivalent to 1 point, net par 2 points, net birdie 3 points, net eagle 4 points, net double eagle 5 points and natural hole-in-one 6 points.
