Letran takes over as Season 88 host

MANILA, Philippines – This video contains highlights of the turnover ceremony from NCAA Season 87 host Perpetual help to incoming Season 88 host Letran at the latter’s main campus in Intramuros, Manila this afternoon.

League president and Letran rector Fr. Tamerlane Lana, OP, officially accepted the Season 88 hosting from Dr. Anthony Tamayo of Perpetual Help in the turnover rites.

"The coming NCAA season promises to be an exciting one," said Lana, who also congratulated Tamayo for a job well done in hosting last year's events.

"We pass the torch knowing that the NCAA is in good hands, we wish them luck in hosting and we know they would do a great job," said Tamayo.

Letran, which last hosted the league nine years ago, will use the theme "Celebrate 88: Conquering New Glories," which is fitting considering that the NCAA is taking the league to the next level by running smack into the UAAP.

"Letran will definitely tread new frontier for the premier league, we're all set to give new glories to the NCAA," said Calvo.

Aside from Lana and Tamayo, other school heads and presidents who attended were Mapua's Dr. Reynaldo Vea, San Beda's Fr. Alloysius Maranan, OSB, San Sebastian's Fr. Anthony Morillo, OAR, Arellano U's Francisco Cayco and Dr. Jose Paulo E. Campos among others. (Video by Cris Cayanan)
