CEBU, Philippines —  The University of Cebu (UC) athletes who made valuable contribution for Central Visayas in clinching a historic four-peat in the 2019 Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) National Games in Davao City two weeks ago will receive cash incentives from their school.

UC President Atty. Augusto W. Go was elated by the performance of their athletes that he readily handed down an undisclosed amount for them during a courtesy call yesterday.

The UC Webmasters contributed almost half of the golds won by Central Visayas leading to an unprecedented fourth straight overall championship in the seniors division.

UC bagged four golds, three silvers, and two bronzes in table tennis, two silvers in karatedo, and two silvers and one bronze in men’s lawn tennis event.

Swimmer Karen Mae Indaya also produced four golds, one silver and two bronzes. The rest of UC’s medals came from weightlifting and athletics.

UC Athletic Director Jessica Jawad-Honoridez was also honored by PRISAA for her grandslam achievement in table tennis.

Aside from that, Jhinno Angelo Selma was also able to fit in the shoes of Honoridez after claiming the best coach award in table tennis.

Furthermore, Selma's wards John Vincent Cabaluna and Diana Oliverio were named as best players.

Honoridez said that instead of dividing the cash incentives to the athletes, they decided to reserve the money for their thanksgiving activity later this year.

The thanksgiving will not only involve the athletes and coaches but also their parents who supported and helped made them what they are now today.
