Cebu Blue Marlins dominate Sandugo swimfest
CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu Blue Marlins reigned supreme in the 4th Sandugo Competitive and Novice Swimfest after collecting 68 gold, 13 silver and 53 bronze medals at the Victoriano Tirol Aqua Complex in Tagbilaran City.
Aside from the overall championships, CBM tankers were also honored as most outstanding swimmers in their respective classes.
CBM coach Rolando Alvarez said that they could have gathered more medals if only the organizers didnt cut the tournament short due to time constraints.
In the competitive division, University of Cebu’s Karen Mae Indaya topped the 18-under class, while City Central’s Quintin Zee Sabalande ruled the 9-10 division.
Two City Central School bets in Brianna Pahayahay and Rain Abella were hailed as top performers in the 9-10 category, while Holy Seed Christian School's Ashley Anya Asibal shone in the 6-under action.
