Cebuano jin shines in South Korea

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano McAvyngyr Alob led the Filipino jins that delivered the country’s first gold in the 2016 World Taekwondo Hanmadang Championships in Kukkiwon, Seoul, South Korea.

Alob, who is now with De La Salle University, was joined by University of Sto.Tomas' Nitoy Dalida and Lorenz Balcita of Far Eastern University in the creative poomsae battle.

The three competed for the first time together, but they were still able to pull off an impressive performance resulting into a gold medal.

Team Philippines posted 7.40 points beating China with 7.20 and Iran at third with 7 points.

Meanwhile, another Cebuano jin in Nicole Maurin is also seeing action in South Korea.  (FREEMAN)
