Cebuano coach earns level A accreditation in karatedo
CEBU, Philippines – Martial arts guru Larry Avila is now a level A coach in karatedo, even as five other Cebuanos also gain coaching accreditation.
After gaining his black belt as an athlete, Avila dedicated his time on coaching He led the Advocacy for Strengthening of Karatedo (ASK)-Cebu Chapter and later on ventured into officiating.
Avila has been promoted to level A coach after attending and passing the exams during the Philippine Karatedo Federation's national coaching accreditation and workshop recently at the Philsports compound in Pasig City.
Avila said it's a big honor for him considering that there only a few level A coaches right now in the country. He is happy at the same time that more coaches from Cebu are seeking accreditation that is being done only once every two years.
The other Cebuanos who took the accreditation and passed under level C are former world champion Rhodee Antoinette Saavedra, Manuel Aloba, Angel Arcamo,Kent Juvan and Angelou Sadili. (FREEMAN)
