Pages scores twinkill in Cebuana Lhuillier Tennis

CEBU, Philippines - National Milo Little Olympic ‘Most Outstanding’ tennis player Jana Marie Pages came up with a double victory in the 2013 Cebuana Lhuillier Age-Group Tennis Championship yesterday at the Baseline Sports and Recreation Center.

Pages claimed the girls 16 and 18-under titles, to become the only Cebuana to win two titles in the tournament.

Pages claim the 16-under title after pulling a convicing 6-3, 6-3 victory against Zethley Mae Alferez. It was an easier route for Pages in the girls 18-under final, beating Shyne Villarieal of Naga, 6-0,6-2.

Alferez bounce back in the 14-under division against Camille Joy Sanico of Isabel, Leyte, 6-1, 6-3, while another Cebuana, Elizabeth Abarquez clinched the 12-under title after beating Anica Giorgia of Baybay, 6-0,6-2.

Over at the Lahug Racket Club, Mar Nicole Suson ruled the boys 14-under class over John Clyde Laguio, 6-2, 6-2, but bowed down in the finals of the boys 12 class against Jace Christian Unto, 6-2-6-1.

Iligan’s Allen Gerry Manlangit also scored back-to-back victory in the boys 16 and 18-under both against Rene Yan Jr.Manlangit.

Tubod’s Brent Signmond Cortes also grabbed the title in the unisex 10-under class against Rupert Ohrelle Tortal of Surigao City, 2-4, 5-3, 5-3 (FREEMAN)
