CEBU, Philippines — At least P68-million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated by the authorities during a buy-bust operation Monday morning, March 4, 2023, in Barangay Carreta, Cebu City that resulted in the arrest of two siblings from Bohol.

The suspects were identified as Jaime Dajao, 47, and his elder brother, Roberto, 53, both are residents of Purok 2, Barangay Tanghaligue, Talibon, Bohol.

Joint operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU-7), Drug Enforcement Group, Philippine Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 7 (PDEG SOU-7), and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-7) arrested the Dajao brothers inside a private cemetery along A. Soriano Avenue in Barangay Carreta.

Police identified Jaime as a regional high-value individual who was also arrested in a buy-bust operation by the RPDEU-7 on May 25, 2020. During his previous arrest Jaime was caught in possession of four kilos of shabu worth P27.2 million. The case, however, was dismissed on December 5, 2023.

According to RPDEU-7, Jaime returned to his illegal drug activities after his release from jail. He allegedly served as courier of an alleged drug lord from Bohol known only by his alias as “Leon”.

Intelligence report states that Jaime could dispose of 10 to 20 kilos of shabu every month. His areas of operation include the tri-cities of Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu and the entire Cebu Province. He is ably assisted by his elder brother, Roberto, who serves as his driver. Both suspects are now detained at the RPDEU-7 detention facility while criminal charges are being prepared for filing against them. — (FREEMAN)
