Ex-convict nabbed with P10.8 million drugs

CEBU, Philippines — A 58-year-old ex-convict yielded an estimated P10.8 million worth of illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation that led to his arrest in Barangay Calamba, Cebu City Sunday evening.

Police identified the suspect as Ciano Entoma Villanueva, an alleged high value individual who can dispose of at least a kilo of drugs weekly. Operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU-7) caught Villanueva in possession of 1.6 kilos of drugs worth P1,800,000.

According to RPDEU-7, the suspect operates in Cebu City and allegedly has a contact in Cebu City Jail. He was placed under one month surveillance before his arrest. Police are preparing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against Villanueva. (CEBU NEWS)
