87th Cebu City Charter Day:Car, condo units up for grabs

CEBU, Philippines — A brand-new car and two condo units will be given away to three lucky young Cebuanos in today’s Cebu City Charter Day celebration.

This is made possible through the city government’s “Pabakuna Ta Gihapon Ka Sugbo Extrabonza.”

Up for grabs is a Toyota Vios and two DECA condo units for the grand prizes.

Only kids will be qualified in the grand raffle prizes as this is part of the city government’s “Balik Eskwela” vaccination programs.

For a student under the kids category to qualify in the raffle, they should have at least completed the primary doses.

The names of qualified entries are taken from the City’s Vaccine Information Management System (VIMS) of the Cebu City government, so that means those who complete the primary doses are automatically qualified to be part of the grand draw.

Like in the previous draws, the city government will be utilizing an electronic raffle draw to determine the winner.

This time, like the preliminary draw last Feb. 19, the name of the parent or guardian of the young vaccinee will be the one that will be announced to the public. This is in line with the Data Privacy Act.

Before the announcement of the major prizes, the city government will also be giving away a motorcycle unit for the kids, two for the “general public” category and two for the “seniors and PWDs” category.

During the preliminary draw, the City Government gave away 13 laptops; 18 tablets for the kids; 12 personal computers, 15 sound systems, and nine printers for the schools; 19 TV units for the general public, 14 for the kids and 19 for the seniors; plus 46 units of portable AM/FM radio, flat iron, and electric fan for the general public, kids, and senior citizens and PWDs; and five water dispensers and five refrigerators for the general public and seniors and PWDs.

The names of the winners during the preliminary draw are posted at the Cebu City Public Information Office’s Facebook page (Cebu City News & Information), with the prizes to be claimed from the City Administrator’s office.

Prior to the grand raffle draw, there will be a 7 a.m. Charter Day mass and a wreath-laying ceremony to be led by Mayor Mike Rama at Plaza Sugbo, which is located right across the City Hall Legislative Building.
