CEBU, Philippines — In a move aimed at further enhancing customer convenience, Visayan Electric has inaugurated its 6th service center within its franchise area.

The newly opened facility, strategically located along D. Jakosalem Street in the heart of Cebu City, promises increased accessibility for customers in the downtown area.

The service center, which is open on Mondays to Saturdays from 9am to 6pm, offers several customer-related services and processes.

This includes electric bill payments, new applications, account upgrades or downgrades, customer information updates, and enrollment in various services like e-billing, Senior Citizen Subsidy, and Lifeline Rate Subsidy.

The center also handles customer inquiries, complaints, and processing service requests.

Commenting on the strategic location, Visayan Electric President and COO Engr. Raul Lucero said that the service center is accessible to customers living in the downtown area of Cebu City, ensuring that their services are within arm's reach for those residing in the heart of the city.

This latest addition to Visayan Electric's network of service centers complements existing locations, including in One Pavilion Place in Banawa, Cebu City; Tabunok, Talisay City; Piazza Elesia in Talamban, Cebu City; Parkmall in Mandaue City; and Glajj Building in Lamac, Consolacion.

Visayan Electric, the second-largest electric distribution utility in the Philippines, continues to prioritize customer satisfaction and aims to further expand its network to provide efficient services across its entire franchise area.

The opening of this new service center underscores the company's commitment to delivering accessible, reliable, and customer-centric solutions to the communities it serves.

“Hopefully, with the opening of this office, we can give better service na sa atong customers and we are really here at the heart of Cebu City. Hopefully, our customers will find it convenient to transact here especially those kanang mga nag commute kay ari ra baya muagi ang mga pasaherohan. We really look forward to give better service to all our customers,” Lucero said in his speech after the blessing and re-opening of the said service center.

This service center in D. Jakosalem St. closed in 2008 after the services were transferred to SM City Cebu. It fully closed in 2018 as all of the employees transferred to their building in Banilad, Cebu City.

However, Lucero said their usual customers at their service center at D. Jakosalem St. were complaining as other areas of their service centers are too far.

“Ang atong mga customers nga naa diri magreklamo kay ngano man? kinahanglan pa sila moadto’g SM, karon moadto sila’g Talamban, One Pavilion, para mo-apply. That's why in 2021, we decided nga ato ning ibalik. Unfortunately, naigo man tag Odette. That's why in 2022 we made plans to restore kani nga office. So pasalamat ta that we were able to restore and reopen this office karon nga year and this office will be a full service office,” Lucero said.

“Ang usa lang gyud nato ka challenge diri is the parking. So, most likely people can park somewhere meaning, ang foot traffic mao gyuy mas daghan dinhi,” Lucero added. — (FREEMAN)
