Free bus rides for devotees start tomorrow

CEBU, Philippines — To ease the volume of traffic during the Sinulog season, the Cebu City Sinulog Governing Board (CCSGB) has partnered with two malls in the city to offer free bus rides to the public.

Angela Emphasis of CCSGB said Robinson’s Galleria and SM City Cebu have offered their buses to pick up and drop off Sinulog revelers.

The private vehicle owners, who will attend the nine-day novena mass, are urged to park their vehicles at the said malls and take the bus going to Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño.

“Our audience, the ones who will watch Sinulog, they can go to SM or Robinsons, park their car there tapos take the bus to the parade area,” Emphasis added.

The free bus rides will start tomorrow, January 9, which is also the start of the nine-day novena mass. The bus trips will depend on the mass schedule.

The bus is scheduled to leave 30 minutes before every mass.

Robinson’s Galleria’s shuttle service called “Sakay Niño” will start at 9:30 am and will end at 9:30 pm.

The route is from Robinson’s Galleria to Plaza Independencia and vice versa.

The FREEMAN has yet to receive the schedule of SM City Cebu as of this writing.

The free bus rides will last until the Sinulog day, January 19.  KQD (FREEMAN)
