PB asks Cayetano for sea ambulance
CEBU, Philippines — The Province of Cebu has sought the assistance of Senator Pia Cayetano in the procurement of a sea ambulance for the northern towns in Bantayan Island.
In a resolution filed by 4th District Representative Kerrie Shimura, the Provincial Board Committee on Health head, the Province of Cebu has urged Cayetano for the approval of its request for a sea ambulance for the towns of Bantayan, Sta. Fe and Madridejos.
The three island towns are located on a separate island from mainland Cebu.
In the resolution, this geographical trait has caused inconvenience to patients coming from the three towns, who are in dire need of advanced medical attention.
“The sea ambulance will indeed hasten the response of any emergency situations and shall ensure effective intervention in transporting individuals in difficult situations like but not limited to health emergencies, disaster and calamities which may happen,” the resolution read.
The resolution also gave authority to the Secretary to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to forward a copy of the resolution to Cayetano.
The resolution was approved during the Bantayan Island visit of the Provincial Board in their first out-of-town session. — GAN (FREEMAN)
