3 days after surrender: Teen drug pusher nabbed with P367,000 shabu, gun
CEBU, Philippines - Three days after he surrendered to the police for his involvement in illegal drugs, a teenager was arrested inside a school compound in Barangay Cogon, Bogo City on Saturday for firearm and drug possession.
Bogo City Police personnel arrested Emmanuel Elorde Jr., 19, after he was seized with 31 grams of suspected shabu worth at least P367,000 and a cal. 45 pistol with four live rounds.
Prior to the suspect's arrest, Police Officer 2 Alexander Ancao Jr. said, a concerned citizen called up their station to report a "suspicious-looking armed person" wearing a scarf and onboard a motorcycle at the oval of Bogo Central School 1.
Acting on the report, the station's Mobile Patrol personnel proceeded to the area and reportedly caught Elorde drop something on the ground then stomped on it.
Upon verification, the police found the cal. 45 pistol the suspect just dropped.
After his arrest, Elorde was frisked and was further found with the packs of shabu placed inside a sling bag hanging on his neck.
The police also reco-vered P350 from the suspect believed to be proceeds of his illegal drug activities. The motorcycle the suspect used, as well as his cellular phone, was also confiscated from him.
As per investigation, the teen was allegedly waiting for a customer who would supposedly buy shabu from him when the policemen arrived.
According to the suspect, the firearm was lent to him by his boss. He did not disclose, though, who his boss is, said Ancao.
Elorde, a resident of Barangay Sambag, is now detained at Bogo City Police Station pending the filing of charges against him before the prosecutor's office today. (FREEMAN)
