3 rape girl, 16, in Labangon

CEBU, Philippines - A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by three men, two of whom are reportedly minors, in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City.

Chief Inspector Arthur dela Rosa, chief of Punta Princesa Police Station, said a barangay tanod turned over a 19-year-old suspect to their station last Wednesday after the mother of the 16-year-old girl reported the incident to them.

Dela Rosa said that the mother identified the suspect as among those who raped her daughter.

He said the mother and the victim could have reported the incident to the barangay and the police following a sex video involving her daughter and three men that went viral on Face book.

“Nahitabo na somewhere in Labangon. Gihatod na ang 19 years old sa barangay tanod diri. I suppose mireklamo ang inahan sa 16 years old mao nakuha ang suspek,” he said.

Dela Rosa said that they will have to review the alleged sex video and all the evidence and that the incident may have possibly happened long before the sex video went viral on social media.

He said that he heard that two of the three suspects were minors and are graduating students.

Dela Rosa, however, could not confirm the report since the Women and Children’s Protection Desk of Punta Princesa Police Station is still investigating the incident.

The girl had undergone medical examination while the suspect is now detained.

The suspect was presented for inquest proceedings at the prosecutor’s office and will face rape charges. — Grace Melanie I. Lacamiento/LPM (FREEMAN)
