CEBU, Philippines - The Fuente Police Station chief decided to padlock the old Fuente Police Station following reports that some policemen brought women to the old station.
Chief Inspector Wildemar Tiu said it is better to padlock the old police station so that people would know that they are no longer using it and to clear them from the allegation which has not been justified by any complaint until now.
“Dunay allegation of using it as lodge so I directed my personnel nga wala nay mogamit o mosulod sa old police station,†Tiu clarified.
A police line was placed in the perimeter fence of the police station and all signages were detached so as not to mislead the public.
The new Fuente Police Station was completed in December 2011 donated by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chong Hua Hospital and was inaugurated by Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama during the term of former PRO-7 director Nicanor Bartolome.
It was a P16-million three-story building located at the corner of Osmeña Boulevard and R.R. Landon Streets.
Tiu said that even though the police station was padlocked, he will still let his men conduct a foot patrol outside.
“As of now we are waiting for memorandum but for the meantime ato gihapon ning tig-tan-awn. Duna may police diri magpatrolya,†he said, adding that it will also avoid bystanders or night dwellers from getting into the old police station.
Tiu will have to wait for further directive from higher headquarters while they are conducting their own investigation.
“Di man pud maayo nga police ang nigamit as lodge but my guidance is to maintain and protect their uniform kay possible sad nagpa-pulis pulis lang to,†Tiu said. (FREEMAN)
