CEBU, Philippines - Capitol Information Officer Ethel Natera said that the money will be used by provincial and district hospitals.
The amount is based on the total assigned sponsored members in the Primary Care Benefit (PCB) facilities of the provincial and district hospitals.
The PFP is broken down into 40 percent for medicines, maximum of 40 percent for hospital equipment and supplies, and 20 percent for professional fees.
Cebu Province and PhilHealth signed a two-year Memorandum of Agreement to benefit the Sponsored Programs-Partial Subsidy Scheme for 2012-2013.
Last year, 190,000 residents availed of the SPPSS while only 169,065 were enrolled in the PhilHealth sponsored program this year.
Sponsored members can avail of the PCB package in any provincial hospital.
PCB aims to increase the number of services for PhilHealth members, expand the utilization rate for services, and boost incentives for PCB providers.
PCB consists of primary preventive services including consultation, visual inspection, blood-pressure measurements, breastfeeding program education, digital-rectal exam, diagnostic services including CBC, urinalysis, sputum microscopy, FBS and chest x-ray, drugs services including nebulation services for asthma, AGE, URTI (minimal and low risk pneumonia), and UTI.
