Magsaysay expects 12-0 for Team PNoy

Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Former Senator Ramon “Jun” Magsaysay, Jr. strongly believes that Cebuanos are intelligent voters and it is up to them to vote for him and the rest of the senatorial candidates under the administration’s Team PNoy.

Magsaysay,  already a two-time senator, said in a press conference yesterday that Team PNoy expects a 12-0 win in the coming national and local elections.

“There is no other way but the right way. There is no other path, but the right path,” he said referring to President Benigno Aquino III’s “Tuwid na Daan” campaign slogan.

Magsaysay said that a 12-0 in favor of Team PNoy is not impossible but very possible.

“This is because of President Aquino’s moral leadership. I don’t know with the United Nationalist Alliance, they do not even know how to identify themselves. Baka yung UNA magiging huli na sila,” Magsaysay said.

Magsaysay recalled that when he run in 1992 as vice president, he ranked number two in Cebu. In 1995 and in 2001 when he ran as senator, he ranked number three and two here.

“You see, Cebuanos are intelligent voters. Cebuanos do not believe in celebrity-isms,” he said, expressing confidence that Cebuanos will still vote for him although he did not land in the top 12 senatoriables in the lastest Pulse Asia Survey.

The young Magsaysay continues to carry the legacy of his late father, former President Ramon Magsaysay, on simplicity, humility and passion to serve the poor and the masses.

“These are the qualities that I inherited from my father,” he said. — (FREEMAN)
