On February 21 to 22, 2014, some members of the newly formed Publishers Association of the Philippines, Inc. PAPI, Cebu Chapter, attended the 18th PAPI National Press Congress at the Isabela Hotel in Cauayan City, Isabela.
The Cebu Association, albeit in its infancy stage, were able to contribute to the said congress by way of the participation of two resource speakers: Pres. Greg S. Senining, who talked about Parliamentary Procedures, and Atty. James F. Lobedica, explaining the subject "Libel Laws." The two gentlemen tackled the subject very well that they became instant celebrities in the occasion.
During the deliberation as to the next venue for the 19th PAPI Press Congress, the PAPI National officials chose Cebu… but Pres. Senining said that he has yet to consult all members before accepting the offer. "Being an infant organization, it will be a great challenge to the PAPI Cebu Chapter to host the next PAPI Press Congress," Pres. Senining stressed.
Radio and TV broadcaster Andy Manatad, who is the convenor in the creation of the Cebu Chapter, fully agreed with Pres. Senining.
The Cebu Chapter delegates, headed by Pres. Greg Senining, came home truly happy that they were able to attend their first PAPI National Press Congress in Isabela City.
