Healthy dining this season of Love

CEBU, Philippines - Love month indeed has arrived and I’m pretty sure every Cebuano is already planning on where to go and dine. If your concern is a place to dine with your love one, friends or family, there is no need to be anxious about since there are nearby restaurants and fast food establishments all over the city. Food prepared in restaurants and fast foods are specially made good in terms of flavor and over all palatability. But in terms of nutrients, can it provide more or at least the same amount of nourishment that we can get from freshly prepared home made foods?

High fast food intake is said to be correlated with increased risk of having Type 2 Diabetes, Cancer and Heart disease. We are not saying that we should completely eradicate the idea of eating fast food even on occasions like this, but it should just be in the context of Moderation, Variety and Balance or MVB.

Practically speaking, it is not that necessary anymore to dine outside just to make this Love season that special. Homemade food is said to be nutritious, less in sodium and trans fat and more likely fits your budget. On your own, you can do quick yet easy and healthy-licious recipes that you can follow so you don’t have to spend lots of money in restaurants or fast foods anymore. You can do heartily delicious treats depending on your own preference.  You can experiment on different sandwich fillings.  With that, you could get to enjoy not just delicious, healthy and budget friendly treats but also more sweet bonding time with your loved one. Isn’t it more exciting to prepare your own Love treat together with your special someone?
