DTI conducts OTOP Fair
CEBU, Philippines — At least 29 micro and small businesses are showcasing their products and crafts during the ongoing Cebu One Town, One Product (OTOP) Fair at the Ayala Center Cebul.
The event, which opened on Thursday, November 24, will end on Sunday.
Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry-Cebu, the five-day trade fair features premium quality, innovative and competitive products from the processed food, homestyle and wearables sectors.
These products were improved by the OTOP Program through packaging development and entrepreneurial seminars.
According to DTI-7 regional director Maria Elena Arbon, OTOP trade fairs help “OTOPrenuers” expand their market reach as well as promote the “buy local, support local” campaign of the government.
Arbon urged Cebuano consumers to patronize locally made products.
The program enables localities and communities to determine, develop, support, and promote products or services that are rooted in local culture, community resource, creativity, connection, and competitive advantage.
As their own ‘pride-of-place,’ these are offerings where they can be the best at or best renowned for. It endeavors to capacitate our ‘OTOPreneurs’ to innovate and produce market-ready products and services.
The ongoing trade fair is located at Rotunda 1 and 2 at the Ayala Center Cebu.
