CEBU, Philippines —  Cebu Doctors Group honors seven excellent doctors, who stood out among the rest and showed remarkable leadership, excellence, innovation, and loyalty, and contributed most to corporate social responsibility.

The seven 2022 Excellence Awardees are Dr.  Chunitu Yu of OrmocDoc; Dr. Wilson Dela Calzada of SouthGen; Dr. Edgar Divinagracia of San Carlos Doc;  Dr. Maria Janet Portia of NorthGen; Dr. Pura Dominguito of Mactan Doc; and Dr. Merle Barba of CebuDoc.

In a press statement, Cebu Doctors Group said the awardees went through layers of deliberation with the Cebu Doctors Group Excellence Awards selection panel, which stemmed from the factors of their practice from their colleagues, staff, and their body of work.

On the other hand, Dr. Generosa Sollano was this year’s recipient of Dr. Potenciano V. Larrazabal Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award.

Sollano, a respected pediatrician, spent her practice in CebuDoc for most of her medical practice that has imprinted a legacy in the hospital, mirroring that of the late Dr. Potenciano Larrazabal Jr., the founding president and chairman of the institution.

The awarding was done during the institution’s 50th Anniversary Gala and Excellence Awards held recently graced with the presence of numerous pronounced individuals, not just in Cebu City but in the entire region, whose contributions served as the backbone of the hospital’s operations not just in terms of patient care but also in bridging the most accessible healthcare in different sectors.

Dr.  Potenciano Larrazabal III, CebuDoc Group chairman and president, said these recognitions portray how each of the hospitals of CDG has taken notice of the exceptional and sincere service every employee has rendered.

“It is our living philosophy that above all, we must be compassionate healthcare providers. This is a reflection that throughout, we are paying close attention to each of our teammates, and their dedication is not being put to waste,” said Larrazabal III  in a statement.

At CDG, Larrazabal III said that they do not just encourage their medical staff and doctors  to anchor their practice to their values, but they honor them when it exudes with them unknowingly.

The 50th anniversary of the institution was filled with fun and fellowship as Larrazabal III said this Golden Jubilee celebration is worth rejoicing for.

He added that onwards, the event will be one of the most anticipated evenings that their medical staff will always look forward to every year.

“This will be the event that shows we are one with our mission, vision, and most of all our values. This is a representation of our harmony that if we enliven these factors, we are one, just like what my Dad would have wanted,” the president and chairman further said.
