PLDT’s Lizlee Ann Gata-Pantone, Shola Alvarez, Rysabelle Devanadera and Vira May Guillema scramble to keep the ball in play against Sta. Lucia last Saturday. The Realtors won the tight match, 26-24, 25-23, 29-27.

MANILA, Philippines — Top contenders F2 Logistics, Cignal HD and Chery Tiggo begin their title bids against different foes in a bid to catch early leader and reigning champion Petron on top of the 2020 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix today at the Bacoor Strike Gym in Cavite.

Sporting a new team name, Chery Tiggo (formerly Foton) parades a bolstered line-up with the addition of ex-Cignal hitter Mylene Paat and former PLDT setter Jasmine Nabor when it meets Marinerang Pilipina at 7 p.m.

Prior to that, the intact F2 Cargo Movers led by Majoy Baron, Fil-Am sensation Kalei Mau and veteran import Lindsay Stalzer face off with the PLDT Power Hitters at 5 p.m.

At 3 p.m., the HD Spikers, behind the troika of Alohi Robins-Hardy, Jov Gonzaga and Rachel Anne Daquis, plunge into action against the Rhea Dimaculangan-led Generika-Ayala, which is coming off a three-set loss to Petron in the opener over the weekend.

Sta. Lucia and Generika-Ayala were the biggest offseason winners after securing the services of Mika Reyes and Dimaculangan, respectively. But the Crossovers also did their homework in the crazy free agency to assemble an equally, if not a stronger squad.

Even without Jaja Santiago and Dindin Santiago-Manabat due to their Japan league stints, Chery Tiggo is considered as the biggest threat to favorites Petron and F2.
