MANILA, Philippines — Far Eastern Universty shook off its poor start to hammer Ateneo, 79-64, Saturday in the 82nd UAAP women's basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Choy Bahuyan led the Lady Tamaraws' 21-2 assault that flipped the game from a 45-38 deficit to a 59-47 lead entering the fourth period.

"Masyadong delayed ang players namin," said coach Bert Flores as his side came back after trailing by 10 in the first half. "Nag-adjust kami at kami naman ang nag-dominate sa kanila. Binaliktad namin, kami naman ang pumressure nung second half."

Bahuyan went for 15 points, seven rebounds and two assists as she helped FEU erect a lead as much as 28, 78-50, with 3:10 remaining.

Clare Castro paced the Lady Tamaraws with 18 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks for their second straight win to hike their record to 2-1.

Fatima Quiapo had 10 points and four boards, and Valerie Mamaril got 10 points and two rebounds in the triumph.

It was a tough defeat for the Lady Eagles as they fell to an even 2-2 slate.

Joanne Nimes topscored for Ateneo with 15 points and three rebounds, as Jhaz Joson and Hazelle Yam both had 10 in the loss.
