BaliPure nips Chef's Classics for 2nd win

MANILA, Philippines — The BaliPure Water Defenders notched their second win in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference after besting Chef's Classics in four sets, 25-22, 20-25, 27-25, 25-22 at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City on Saturday.

Led by skipper Grace Bombita and Menchie Tubiera, the Water Defenders kept the Lady Red Spikers at bay.

Chef's Classics had a chance to take a 2-1 set lead over BaliPure in the third canto when they were the first to arrive at set point, 24-23.

But the Water Defenders were able to frustrate the Lady Red Spikers and win the extended set, 27-25.

Tubiera finished with 18 points in the win.

BaliPure improved its win-loss record to 2-3 while Chef's Classics fell to 0-5.
