Altas, Blazers, Stags shoot for win No. 2

MANILA, Philippines — Perpetual Help, St. Benilde and San Sebastian try to catch up with reigning titlist San Beda at the helm at the resumption today of the 95th NCAA basketball tournament at the Flying V Centre in San Juan City.

The Altas and the Blazers, who edged the Mapua Cardinals, 80-78, and the Emilio Aguinaldo Generals, 69-66, respectively, Tuesday, face off at 4 p.m. with the winners zooming to the top alongside the Lions, who are unbeaten in two starts.

The Stags, who overpowered the Jose Rizal Bombers, 82-51, also Tuesday, will likewise shoot for a share of No. 1 as they tackle the Cardinals at 2 p.m.

Also scheduled today is the 12-noon duel between Letran (1-1) and Jose Rizal (0-2).

Perpetual Help is expected to rely anew on Tonton Peralta, Edgar Charcos and new center Ben Adamos, who were all instrumental in notching the Altas’ first win in the season.
