La Salle solid pick vs winless Arellano

MANILA, Philippines — La Salle tries to boost its stock as it clashes with a struggling Arellano University side today in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup 2019 at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Archers have been solid and won three of their first four outings including a 71-67 drubbing of Centro Escolar U on May 17.

Their only loss came at the hands of the University of the Philippines Maroons, an 85-92 overtime setback on May 12.

La Salle will have a chance to solidify its No. 3 position in Group A behind leaders San Beda and San Sebastian, both unbeaten in two outings, as it tangles at 5 p.m. with the Arellano squad that has been winless in three starts.

Only the top four teams in each of the two brackets will advance to the quarterfinals.

And the Archers are focused on being one of the four in the eight-team Group A.

In Group B, Emilio Aguinaldo College and Jose Rizal U try to breathe life to their respective bids as they face off at 3:15 p.m.
