PSL cops 21 golds in Thailand
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Swimming League (PSL) copped a total of 21 gold, seven silver and four bronze medals in the 2019 Thanyapura International Swimming Championship held at the Thanyapura Swimming Pool in Phuket, Thailand.
Masville Elementary School-Parañaque standout Marc Bryan Dula and Hope Christian School-Legazpi bet Trump Christian Luistro were the most bemedalled swimmers in the tournament after sweeping all the seven gold medals in their respective age-groups.
The Palarong Pambansa-bound Dula dominated the 50m backstroke (32.54), 100m butterfly (1:09.57), 100m freestyle (1:05.07), 50m butterfly (30.67), 100m backstroke (1:13.40), 50m freestyle (29.34) and 200m Individual Medley (2:35.71) in the boys’ 11-12 division.
Not to be outdone was Luistro who secured mints in the 50m backstroke (38.30), 200m freestyle (2:34.39), 50m butterfly (33.85), 100m freestyle (1:10.18), 50m breaststroke (43.52), 50m freestyle (31.55) and 100m breaststroke (38.85) in the boys’ 9-10 class.
