‘Bakbakan’ semis at Roligon today

MANILA, Philippines — The last semifinal round of FIGBA National Bakbakan 12–Stag Derby takes center stage at the 10,000-seat Roligon Mega Cockpit in Parañaque today.

All qualifiers nationwide will then compete in the three-day finals at Roligon next week, depending on their semifinals scores.

Those with 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5 and 6 points will have their 5-stag finals on Monday.

Competition continues on Dec. 13 (6.5 points) and will culminate with the grand finals Dec. 15 (7 points only).

The 2018 “Bakbakan”, spearheaded by FIGBA (International Federation of Game Breeders Associations), drew more than 8,000 entries this year shattering last year’s record of 7,016 entries.

“Bakbakan” fights were also held in Guam and Saipan, courtesy of new member Marianas Gamefowl Breeders Association (MGBA), said FIGBA president Ricoy Palmares Jr.

“Bakbakan” is co-presented by Thunderbird - Passion of the Filipino Nation, B-MEG Integra Power Maxx, and Excellence Poultry and Livestock Specialist, in cooperation with Hagibis, Salto, LDI, Pit Fighter, VNJ Distributors and Mad Science.
