MANILA, Philippines — National University’s fighters produced another impressive performance to emerge as overall champion anew in the 2018 Smart/MVP Sports Foundation Philippine Taekwondo League held in various SM Supermalls.

The NU jins dominated the 57-team competition by winning the gold medals in the senior men, senior women and junior men’s events.

San Beda College topped the junior women’s division while Diliman Preparatory School and Emilio Aguinaldo College took the Cadet boys and Cadet girls titles, respectively.

Makati Rep. Monsour del Rosario and Stephen Fernandez, the tournament’s commissioner and tournament director, respectively, said the Philippine Taekwondo League was organized to give future Olympians a venue to showcase their skills and techniques.

Each team in the tourney supported by PLDT, Meralco, Philippine Sports Commission and Philippine Olympic Committee was composed of 15 to 20 jins.
