Anvaya Cove hosts invit’l triathlon

MANILA, Philippines - The Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club (ACBNC) is hosting the sixth Anvaya Cove Invitational Triathlon Oct. 19 -20 at Morong, Bataan.

Jointly organized by the ACBNC and the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP), the event holds on the first day, at 2 p.m., the SuperTriKids (STK) races composed of a 25m swim-200m run aquathlon for participants aged 8-under, a 200m swim-2K bike-1K swim for participants aged 9-10, a  300m swim-4K bike- 2K run for 11-12, and 400m swim-8K bike- 3K run for 13-15.

Also on tap is a category for newbies 16-17 years over the same distances as the 13-15 year-olds.

Slated at 6:30 a.m. the next morning is a sprint triathlon composed of 1.2K swim-32K bike-6K run in the male-female open and other  age-group categories. Also to be held is the sprint-family relay event utilizing the same race course.

At stake for the top 3 male and female winners of the STK categories, the open and age-group are medals and gift items care of the sponsors. All race finishers will be entitled to event t-shirts and post-race meals.

The event is sponsored by ACBNC, Globe Business, Ayala Land Premier, Gatorade, Fitness First, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Asian Centre for Insulation Philippines (ACIP), Standard Insurance and Subic Vantage Point Camera Club.
