Mabilog: Clean up vs dengue during holidays
ILOILO CITY – Citing rising cases of dengue in the city, City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog urged Ilonggos to make use of the coming long weekend to clean up their surroundings to get rid of breeding places of dengue-carrying mosquitoes.
Mabilog said it is better to get busy during the 5-day holiday in cleaning our homes and community to fight the spread of dengue instead of going on an out-of-town vacation.
Cases of dengue here have reached 60 last week, compared with only 20 cases during the same period last year.
The mayor had earlier issued an order to all barangay officials to strictly observe the “4 o’clock habit” or cleaning of surroundings every 4 p.m. - THE FREEMAN
