MANILA, Philippines - Maski ang isang Sena­dor ng United States ay interesado kung matutuloy ang super fight nina Fi­lipino world eight-divi­sion champion Manny Pacquiao at Floyd May­wea­ther, Jr.

Sa pagdalo ni Pacquiao sa National Prayer Breakfast sa Washington ay binisita niya ang opisi­na ni Sen. Harry Reid ng Nevada.

Sa kanilang kuwen-tu­han ay inilahad ng 75-anyos na si Reid ang nangyaring exercise accident noong Bagong Taon kung saan siya nagkaroon ng sugat sa kanang mata at nabaling buto sa tad­yang.

“Explained my injury to @MannyPacquiao. He also told me he’s ready to fight @FloydMaywea­ther. Let’s make it happen,” sabi ni Reid sa kanyang Twitter account na @SenatorReid.

Bukod kay Reid, matalik na kaibigan ni Bob Arum ng Top Rank Promotions, binisita rin ni Pac­quiao ang opisina ni Rep. Janice Hahn ng California.

Matapos ang personal nilang pag-uusap ni Mayweather sa kanyang hotel suite sa Miami ay wala nang narinig pa mula sa dalawang boksingero.

Nauna nang sinabi ng HBO na hindi sila ang ma­giging hadlang para ma­­tuloy ang Pacquiao-May­weather mega showdown sa Mayo 2 sa MGM Grand sa Las Vegas, Ne­va­da.

“Our position has been consistent throughout this whole process,” sabi ni HBO Sports president Ken Hershman. “We’re here to stand by and help wherever we can to make this fight happen. We’re not an impediment to that happening, and we’ll do what’s necessary from our end. Then, it’s up to the principals.”
