Ex-FDCP chair Liza Diño, nagsampa ng 78 counts ng cyber libel sa isang entertainment portal!

Nagsampa kahapon si former FDCP (Film Development Council of the Philippines) chair Liza Diño ng 78 counts of cyber libel sa Prosecutor Office of Quezon City laban sa entertainment portal, PEP.

Ayon sa kanyang inilabas na statement, isang taon niyang pinag-isipan at pinag-aralan ang desisyong ito.

Narito ang kanyang buong statement :“In May of last year, I was ambushed as malicious article after malicious article was released attacking everything about who I am – my accomplishments, my leadership, my very person. Hiding behind anonymous sources and twisted facts, these articles didn’t seek to inform, but to damage and destroy me.

“Matagal kong pinag-isipan ito. It took almost a year of endless discussions with my husband and family because this decision is difficult to make. The entertainment industry revolves around public opinion and by doing something like this, people might judge me all over again. Hindi ko alam kung kakayanin ko pa kaya nanahimik na ako. Pero ito ba ‘yung tama? Why am I allowing their false narrative to be the truth when I know my truth. I know THE truth.

“So today, through my legal counsels, I filed 78 counts of cyber libel via 4 complaints at the Office of the Prosecutor of Quezon City against PEP and personalities involved in an attempt to tarnish my reputation by manipulating public opinion. There must be accountability.

“I have decided to fight back and reclaim my name and reputation through a system that is impartial to their great power and influence.

“I refuse to engage in trial by publicity and in fighting dirty. Instead, I place my trust in the justice system and its proper channels.

“Regardless of the outcome, I will rest easy knowing that I stood up for myself and demanded accountability.

“My story continues. I have so much to look forward to and so many people in my life that I cherish, and for that, I am thankful.

“So thank you to everyone who supported me and believed in me all this time.”

Ito ay may kinalaman sa diumano’y serye ng mga artikulong inilabas ng PEP noong Mayo ng nakaraang taon na nagbigay sa kanya ng matinding trauma.

Dagdag na pahayag ni Ms. Liza: “I know I’m opening up myself for judgement. But there must be accountability. ‘Di po biro ang ginawa nila. And people from international community have asked me about these issues. They should be held accountable. Hindi lang po ako nagsasalita, I choose to keep quiet but this has been very traumatic. Thank you for understanding.”

Habang sinusulat namin ito ay wala pang nilalabas na statement ang kinasuhang entertainment portal.

PVL pinuri ng MTRCB, umaksyon sa kalaswaan ng player habang may laro

Nagpahayag kahapon ng suporta ang Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) sa hakbang ng Premier Volleyball League (PVL) na bumalangkas ng isang code of ethics at mga regulasyon sa disiplina bilang tugon sa isang viral na insidente nang ang isang manlalaro ng Petrogazz ay nahuli nang live camera na gumawa ng kalaswaan sa kasagsagan ng laro.

Pinatawag ng MTRCB ang pamunuan ng PVL, ang mga prodyuser ng palabas, at mga brodkaster (Nine Media at Cignal TV) upang masiguro ang pagsunod nila sa mga pamantayan ng etikal na pagbobrodkast ng kanilang liga.

“We in the MTRCB are happy that our dialogue contributed to building a more ethical and responsible sports environment,”  MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto said.

“On and off the court, they are not just athletes; they are role models who influence young viewers. Therefore, they should be more prudent and accountable for their actions,” she said. “Young girls and boys look up to them; they should be setting good examples as athletes especially. But I appreciate PVL for taking action, especially for creating their own code of ethics,” Sotto added.

Inanunsyo ni PVL Commissioner Sherwin Malonzo na ang liga ay nakagawa na ng isang komprehensibong code of conduct, na naglalarawan ng proseso, mga parusa, at mga sanksyon para sa sinumang lalabag at gagawa ng kalaswaan.
