MANILA, Philippines — Kaagad humataw ng panalo ang Cignal HD sa Philippine National Volleyball Federation Champions League men’s division matapos gibain ang College of Saint Benilde, 25-19, 25-21, 25-20, noong Linggo sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Pumalo si national team spiker Joshua Umandal ng 15 points mula sa 12 hits at 3 blocks para sa 1-0 record ng HD Spikers sa Pool A  habang may 10 markers si skipper JP Bugaoan.

“It’s our first game of the year and everybody contributed well not just the first six but the entire team,” sabi ni coach Dexter Clamor sa eight-team men’s tournament na inorganisa ni PNVF president Ramon “Tats” Suzara.

Hindi pa naglalaro pa­ra sa dating kampeon si national team ace Bryan Bagunas.

Nabigo ang Cignal sa University of Santo Tomas sa finals ng nakaraang PNVF Champions Cup noong Nobyembre.

Samantala, pinadapa ng Savouge Spin Doctors ang PGJC Philippine Navy, 25-21, 15-25, 25-22, 25-22, para sa 1-0 marka sa Pool A.

Nagtala si Jhun Señoron ng 16 points para sa Spin Doctors at may 15 at 12 markers sina Sherwin Caritativo at Jeremy Pedrosa, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Umiskor naman ang Iloilo D’Navigators ng 25-20, 25-23, 25-20 pagwalis sa VNS Asereht Griffins sa Pool B.

Humataw si John Andres ng 16 points para sa D’Navigators.

Nakatakdang magtuos kahapon ang mga matitikas na koponan ng Philippine Air Force at Philippine Army sa Pool B.
