2 malaking event ikinasa ng NCFP

MANILA, Philippines – Sa dalawang international chess tournament makakakuha ng sapat na puntos sina FIDE Master Paulo Bersamina at IM Emmanuel Garcia para makasikwat ng Grand Master (GM) norms.

Ito ang pahayag kaha­pon ni GM Jayson Gonzales, ang executive director ng National Chess Fe­deration of the Philippine (NCFP), sa PSA sports forum sa Shakey’s sa Malate, Manila.

Ang dalawang torneong pamamahalaan ng NCFP ay ang Philippine International Chess Cham­pionship sa Disyembre 5-12 at ang Philippine Sports Commission-Puregold International Chess Challenge sa Dis­yembre 14-21.

Ito ay parehong idaraos sa Celebrity Sports Plaza.

“Doon sila makakakuha ng GM norms, kaya dapat sumali sila,” wika ni Gonza­les kina Bersamina at Garcia.

Idinagdag ni Gonzales na halos 20 foreign GMs ang inaasahan niyang lalahok sa dalawang torneo na naglalatag ng kabuuang premyong $60,500.

“We posted the event in the FIDE website and we got inquiries from Grand Masters from Armenia, Ukraine, Belgium, Germany and India. Two Grand Masters from Georgia have confirmed their participation,” wika ni Gonzales.

Bukas din ang nasabing dalawang torneo sa mga women players, ayon kay Gonzales.
