MANILA, Philippines - Alinman sa fifth at sixth round ay babagsak si No­ni­to ‘The Filipino Flash’ Do­naire, Jr.

Ito ang deklarasyon ni Ja­maican boxer Nicholas Walters sa kanyang pagsa­gupa kay Donaire para sa ka­nilang unification championship fight sa Oktubre 18 sa StubHub Center sa Car­son, California.

“I am very hungray and I am confident that I will de­feat Nonito Donaire,” sa­bi ni Walters. “I believe I will knock him out in five or six rounds.”

Kasalukuyang bitbit ni Donaire ang 33-2-0 win-loss-draw ring record ka­sama ang 21 knockout, ha­bang dala ni Walters ang malinis na 24-0-0 (20 KOs) slate.

Tangan ni Walters ang “re­gular” version WBA fea­therweight belt, samantalang bitbit ni Donaire, ang 2012 Fighter of the Year awar­dee, ang “super” version nito.

Inangkin ni Donaire, tu­bong Talibon, Bohol, ang WBA featherweight title matapos ang kanyang technical decision victory la­ban kay Simpiwe Vetyeka no­ong Mayo 31 sa Macau, China.

Sa nasabi ring boxing card pinatumba ni Walters si Vic Darchinyan sa fifth round.

Ito ang ikaapat na sunod na KO victory ni Walters at ika-10 sa huli niyang 11 laban.

Ang nasabing title unification fight nina Donaire at Walters ay nasa undercard ng banggaan nina world middleweight king Genna­dy Golovkin at Marco Antonio Ru­bio.
