Unfolding story

“The BBL (BOL) is still a story unfolding whether it will be implemented still remains to be seen,” sinabi ng Presidente sa inauguration ng Northern Mindanao Wellness and Reintegration Center sa Malaybalay, Bukidnon noong isang araw.

At narito ang patuloy na kuwento sa BOL:

Actually, the House of Representatives ratified the bill last week in time for the President’s signing it last Wednesday.

The BOL provides that the  Bangsamoro will be composed of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, six municipalities in Lanao del Norte, 39 barangays in North Cotabato, Cotabato City, and Isabela City.

The BOL also stipulates that the region will get a bigger share of 75 percent of the taxes collected by the national compared compared to the 70 percent that the current ARMM structure gets.

The BOL is envisioned to grant wider self-rule to the Muslim minority in Mindanao.

The Senate was able to ratify the reconciled version of the proposed measure even before the President had his SONA last July 23.

The BOL  is consi-dered to be one of the requirements under a 2014 peace agreement between Manila and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), which was the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB).
