Mga kaso ni Quiboloy sa Davao City, ililipat na sa Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — Pinahintulutan na ng Korte Suprema na mailipat ang mga kasong kriminal na kinakaharap ni Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy sa Quezon City, mula sa Davao City.

Nabatid na pinagbigyan ng Mataas na Hukuman ang kahilingan ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla na ilipat ang venue sa Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) matapos na makitaan ng sapat na kadahilanan.

“Pursuant to its constitutional power to order a change of venue to avoid a miscarriage of justice, the Supreme Court’s Second Division yesterday granted the request of Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla to move the venue of two criminal cases against Apollo C. Quiboloy from the Regional Trial Court (RTC) of Davao City to the RTC of Quezon City,” anang Supreme Court.

Kasabay nito, inatasan ng Mataas na Hukuman ang Clerk of Court ng Davao City RTC Branch 12 na kaagad na ipadala ang mga record ng kaso sa Office of the Executive Judge ng QC RTC sa loob ng tatlong araw matapos na matanggap nito ang kautusan.

Inatasan din nito ang QC RTC Executive Judge na kaagad na i-raffle ang mga kaso ni Quiboloy.

Abril 4, 2024 nang lumiham si Remulla sa SC at hiniling ang paglilipat ng venue ng kaso ni Quiboloy, na matatandaang nahaharap sa mga kasong paglabag sa Section 5(b) at Section 10(a) ng Republic Act 7610 o The Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act sa Davao court.

Nahaharap rin ang pastor ng kasong Qualified Human Trafficking sa Pasig court, na isang non-bailable offense.
