DOH kinumpirma ang dengue deaths matapos bakunahan ng Dengvaxia

MANILA, Philippines — Kinumpirma ng Department of Health (DOH) kahapon ang pagkamatay ng 14 na bata na pawang mga nabakunahan ng anti-dengue vaccine.

Sinabi ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III na dengue shock syndrome ang ikinasawi ng mga bata base sa forensic analysis ng Public Attorney’s Office (PAO).

“PAO exhumed the bodies of the children and, so far, the indication is that their deaths were consistent with dengue shock syndrome,” sabi ni Duque.

Inaantay naman ang resulta ng pagsusuri ng mga taga Philippine General Hospital (PGH) bago pagkumparahin ang resulta.

Hindi pa naman masabi ni Duque kung may kinalaman ang Dengvaxia vaccination sa pagkamatay ng mga bata.

“The death is consistent to dengue shock syndrome, but the charts of some of the children showed co-morbidities which means there are other illnesses. So we are trying to clear out if the other disease did not cause or hasten their deaths,” patuloy ng kalihim.

Patuloy namang tinutulungan ng DOH ang mga nagkasakit matapos mabakunahan ng Dengvaxia.

Ipinatigil ang pagbabakuna ng Dengvaxia dahil sa dala nitong panganib.
