46 Muslim PDL pinalaya sa panahon ng Ramadan

MANILA, Philippines — Nasa 46 Muslim na persons deprived of loberty (PDL) ang napalaya nang magsimula ang Ramadan ngayong taon.

Ito ang inihayag ni Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Gregorio Pio P. Catapang Jr. sa kanyang pulong kay Presidential Adviser on Muslim Affairs Almarin Centi Tilla sa BuCor headquarters sa Muntinlupa.

Inalam ni Tilla ang kalagayan ng mga Muslim PDL sa iba’t ibang operating prisons at penal farms (OPPF) ng bureau.

Sinabi ni Catapang na batay sa datos ng BuCor, may humigit-kumulang 3,014 na Muslim PDL sa iba’t ibang OPPF noong Pebrero 29, 2024, na 5.69 porsyento mula sa 52,950 kabuuang bilang ng mga PDL sa ilalim ng pagbabantay ng BuCor.

Sa nasabing 3,014 Muslim PDLs, 1,121 ay nakakulong sa New Bilibid Prison (NBP), 752 -Davao Prison and Penal Farm, 698 -San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm, 202 - Correctional Institution for Women, 144 - Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm, 81 - Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm at 16 - Leyte Regional Prison.
