A Las Ramblas-inspired feast awaited guests when Anya Resort Tagaytay celebrated its first anniversary.

Anya chef Jonathan Bouthiaux and Rambla’s chef Ruben Beltran recently whipped up dishes that were specialties of Barcelona’s famous strip.

Dishes included Jamon Iberico al corte, anchovy air-baguette with piparras cream and grilled vegetables, and parmesan croquetas in truffle sauce. Also served were Rambla’s paella negra with fresh mussels and clams with saffron aioli, pork jowl and chipotle dressing.

This Spanish feast was all about making the most of the best local produce found in Anya Resort Tagaytay. Guests enjoyed music from saxophonist Vince Lahorra.

Roxaco president and CEO Santi Elizalde said, “The success of our company would not be possible if not for everyone here tonight. Anya began with a vision of becoming a distinctly Filipino brand, and we are proud to say that we are successful in attaining that. Cheers to the first of many more years to come.”

Also present at the event were Anya Hospitality Corp. managing director Alfredo Roca and upcoming general manager Mikel Arriet.

A match made in ice cream heaven

As part of the celebrations of SM’s 60th anniversary, Fila and Fiorgelato launched its newest partnership for a collaboration held at SM Makati.

A Fila pop-up store offered 50- to 60-percent discount on all shoes. While Fiorgelato gave out free two scoops of gelato for every Fila customer with a single-receipt purchase, minimum of P1,500.

Also launched at the pop-up was the Fila E Accelerator Gelato, a pair of women’s running shoes with colors made specifically for millennials. The shoe design was inspired by the two brands’ collaboration.

Fiorgelato president Richie Cuna and Fila owner and CEO Cris Albert.

Fiorgelato president Richie Cuna and Fila Philippines  owner and CEO Cris Albert welcomed two of the newest brand ambassadors of Fila — actress Roxanne Barcelo and actor  Jerald Napoles. Also present at the event was Sole Slam founder and CEO Antonio Aguirre, who is also Fila’s creative consultant.

Cuna said, “We believe that the colors (of the gelato) available (in the pop-up) are specifically for Fila, since both brands originated in Italy.”

Fila is a global sportswear brand launched in the Philippines in 1994. It is known to do unique collaborations with different markets and having collaborated with Fiorgelato is certainly a memorable one.
