Fly more with Citi PremierMiles Card

THE PEPPER MILL - Pepper Teehankee -

Citi gave its guests a preview of the best travel experience during the launch of its newest travel card, Citi PremierMiles. The event was held at Travel Café Philippines, with an usherette in flight attendant uniform welcoming guests and handing out embarkation cards that served as raffle tickets.

The launch hosted by Paolo Abrera let guests in on the features of the new card, which offers cardholders the chance to earn free miles at a rate of one mile for every P45, which they can redeem through a choice of five Frequent Flyer Programs: Thai Airways’ Royal Orchid Plus, Cathay Pacific’s Asia Miles, Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer, Philippine Airlines’ Mabuhay Miles and Northwest Airlines’ WorldPerks. That’s a choice of over 70 airlines through their participation in three travel alliance programs — oneworld, SkyTeam and Star Alliance. The best part about Citi PremierMiles is that the miles do not expire!

Citi country business manager Mark Jones said: “Previously, travelers were limited in choosing their credit card on the basis of one frequent flyer program. However, travelers rarely fly using the same carrier every time. Those who are looking for the best deals on airfare tend to switch airlines, depending on their destination. With Citi PremierMiles, they will have total freedom with their miles.”

Citi Cards business director Bea Tan added: “When they purchase their travel tickets using Citi PremierMiles, our cardholders enjoy free travel inconvenience and travel accident insurance for as much as P10 million, covering from point of departure until point of arrival. For missed or delayed flights, delayed luggage or worse, lost luggage, they can claim as much as P10,000 for the inconvenience.”

A raffle was held, where roundtrip tickets for two to Bangkok, Hong Kong and Japan were given away, courtesy of Philippine Airlines and Northwest Airlines.

Daughtry rocked Eastwood!

It was truly an unforgettable night and an ultimate rock experience at the Daughtry “Home” at Eastwood City concert.

Eastwood was undoubtedly the perfect venue for Daughtry’s highly anticipated concert. Set-up amphitheater style, the 15-ft.-tall wall circled the central plaza, crowned by a newly constructed canopy, shielding the entire al fresco area. Chairs were setup in an escalating manner allowing the audience to see Daughtry up close because the view from every corner of the venue was comfortable. The venue was large enough for people to enjoy yet not too huge to allow the audience have that “intimate” feel during the concert.

The venue was packed and from the moment Chris Daughtry came out, the audience started screaming and everyone remained on their feet till the end of the show.

Highlights included Over You, which totally got the crowd singing their lungs out as Chris prompted everyone to sing the chorus for him. Of course he sang his hit song Home that truly got the audience excited.

Daughtry and his bandmates Brian Caddock, Josh Steely, Joey Barnes and Josh Paul were so near the audience that the connection was really intense. It wasn’t your normal rowdy rock concert. Congratulations to Eastwood City for staging this great concert.
