DLSU Vaugirard scholarship a big opportunity

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Education (DepEd) urged yesterday graduating students from public schools to avail of the De La Salle University’s Vaugirard Scholarship Program for school year 2015-2016.

The program provides full scholarship grants to 50 deserving graduates of public secondary schools.

Scholars under this program will receive the following benefits: full waiver on tuition, miscellaneous and other fees; monthly stipend of P10,000; and cash incentive for those graduating with Latin honors.

The application and screening of qualified students will start this month until September.

DepEd has selected 32 secondary schools nationwide to serve as testing centers for the DLSU college admission test which will be administered from October to November.

Interested students may contact the Office of Admissions and Scholarships of the DLSU at 02-5360225 or 02-5244611 local 162 or visit the website www.dlsu.edu.ph/scholarships/vaugirard-deped.

The DLSU’s Vaugirard Scholarship Program was launched in 2012.

This year’s fourth-year students will be the last batch of graduates from a four-year high school curriculum.

Next year’s senior students (Grade 10) will have to go to Grade 11 by June 2016, which is the target full implementation of the senior high school program under the K to 12 law.
