Elba gears up competing student culinarians

MANILA, Philippines - To highlight its commitment in igniting culinary passion amongst the fresh breed of cooking talents in the country, Elba, one of the leading brands in Italian cooking appliances, recently showed its support to the Center of Culinary Arts’ (CCA, Manila) CCA Cup: Clash of the Clans grand finals last Nov. 22 at the CCA Oceana, at SM By the Bay.

 The CCA Cup, Clash of the Clans, held in conjunction with CCA’s 17th anniversary, is the first of an annual culinary competition that aims to become a highly coveted award in the culinary industry. For the 1st Clash of the Clans, Elba provided a whole kitchen set up for the four houses of CCA students competing the whole day with a variety of top-class units for the on-the-spot cooking challenge. These “cooking arsenal” musts are comprised of five electric ranges, eight domino cooktops, and one convection oven. Apart from this, four Elba microwave ovens were raffled off to the audience.

According to Sidney Tan, VP for marketing, Elba’s commitment to support student-based culinary competitions is proudly etched in its strong advocacy of developing the “inner chef” in everyone, which in student’s terms mean developing their “talent for cooking.”

“Elba has been actively supporting the culinary track as a way of promoting education and giving back to the community through its participation in student-based activities and competitions. We see our partnership with CCA, Manila as a way of nurturing such talents at the grass-roots levels.
